Objectives:

  2. Discuss the Islamic concept of jihad al-nafs (inner struggle) and reliance on Allah for strength.

Outline:

  1. Recap and Welcome (10 minutes)

    • Reflect on participants’ progress and challenges in practicing committed action.
  2. Understanding Setbacks (15 minutes)

    • Discuss common challenges in maintaining behavior change.
    • Frame setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning.
  3. Resilience-Building Strategies (20 minutes)

    • Teach ACT techniques for handling difficult emotions (e.g., self-compassion).
    • Islamic Integration: Share Quranic verses about perseverance (Quran 3:139).
  4. Jihad al-Nafs and Strength through Faith (20 minutes)

    • Discuss jihad al-nafs as the struggle to improve oneself.
    • Reflection: How does reliance on Allah help you overcome challenges?
