Dr. Aisha Chaudhry is a female Muslim therapist and Aalimah who helps Muslim women gain the confidence they need to handle daily life stressors that contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. She specializes in treating anxiety spectrum disorders and disorders such as the following:

Assalaamu Alaykum

Most of the time when Muslim women come for care, they are exhausted and feel hopeless. They feel stuck. Maybe their stuckness is due to fear, anxiety, and a lot of different worries - which can feel paralyzing. Sometimes women feel lost and aren't sure how to see their way through. Maybe they feel the need to navigate perfectly and may fall prey to people-pleasing until they feel erased.

Navigating issues like college, marriage, children, and managing extended family can feel so overwhelming.

Whatever phase of life you’re in, there are ways to carve out a more serving way of handling them and deciding who you want to be through all of this AND who you’d like to be as a result of all of this. 

How I can help

I can help by hearing and seeing you and understanding your story and journey. Then, together, we’ll create a plan to help you be the person you’re striving to be and navigate toward your aspirations. 

I will help you develop a healthy mindset and share tools that can help you write the story you wish to be read and have a life well-lived. Together, we’ll practice observing vulnerable parts that feel anxious, angry, resentful, and sad. We’ll explore the inner messaging and how we can promote a strengths-based approach to support resilience, self-agency, and empowerment. In sha Allah we’ll collaborate in your care to help you relate differently to the circumstances you currently struggle with.

Islamic-Integrated Care

There are plenty of secular therapists out there, and I think many of them do fantastic work, but our aim will be to understand your story which is layered with religion, culture, and a lot of journey!  You'll be met you where you are and see what matters most to you, then as a team, we’ll work on building the life you love. Building that life requires us to look inward and see how to get that vision outward. 

Let’s take care of you from the inside out – real soul care – in a way that replenishes, rejuvenates, and restores life so you can move in the direction you’re envisioning.

 

Neural-Informed Care

As a neural-informed therapist, we will work on regulating by calming the inner messaging and shift how the body interprets it while building new meaning. 

Our goal is to understand how you are relating to your story and shift the way you relate to it. Being willing to observe the inner experiences can feel distressing in the moment, but we’ll practice being present while working through it. That will prove to be EMPOWERING in sha Allah.

Some of the therapies used are ERP, ACT, IFS, CBT, DBT, & EMDR. How these methods are used will be tailored uniquely to your challenges and completely collaborate with you in a safe and comfortable manner.
