Intensive Therapy

About the Program

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are popular choices for clients desiring and needing improvements to their mental health in a shorter time span. Some of the issues with IOPs is that typically they come with a se team of professionals who might not be a good fit for the client. Additionally, sometimes clients need an intensive program, but they are not interested in the group components or would like to arrange their psychiatric care separately.

For these reasons and more, Manara Counseling, LLC offers the most important elements of an intensive program with more flexibility. Clients needing psychiatric care, can select and arrangement appointments at more flexible times, thus allowing more of regular, daily life to continue.

Additionally, clients often wonder why they should engage in an intensive program compared with weekly treatment. There can be a lot of reasons such as ensuring daily engagement and accountability, which prevents prolonging progress which can create sometimes create fatigue, hoplessness, and more debilitation. Many would prefer an intensive program rather than taking much longer to see progress.

Common Questions about Intensive Therapy

Intensive therapy is designed to provide longer and more frequent therapy sessions over a shorter time span to accelerate your recovery. It is one-on-one, not group therapy, and is tailored to your individual needs.

Common concerns that are a good fit for Intensive Therapy include trauma, OCD, social anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, generalized anxiety or worries, depression, low self-esteem, procrastination, and concerning habits.

Unfortunately, our Intensive Therapy Program is not set-up to replace crisis services or hospitalization; Persons who are a good fit for our Intensive Therapy program are eager for help, but are stable, and desire new skills and further symptom relief. Also, we are not a medical facility, thus we are not able to provide detox services or accept patients who are actively dependent on substances.

The format for our Intensive Therapy Program is designed to meet your specific needs and address your treatment goals. Our most common model for video-based therapy is 100 minutes each session x 4 sessions each week for approximately 3-6 weeks, depending on treatment needs which are determined during the initial intake session.

Intensive therapy through Manara Counseling, LLC is delivered through Google Meet, a HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform.

Under the Affordable Care Act, all insurance plans must cover mental health care. So, if you have health insurance, it should provide some coverage for mental health treatment.

We will be considered an “out-of-network” provider, which means that your insurance company may reimburse you directly for a portion of the fees paid. And we have opted out of Medicare. Dr. Aisha can provide you with documentation of the care received that you can submit to your insurance company through what is called a “superbill” after your treatment has concluded.

Please inquire with your insurance company to find out whether they will reimburse multiple hours per day of treatment in an outpatient Therapy setting.

No. The entire course of Intensive Therapy is tailored to your needs, and you meet with your provider without other clients involved.
